As if a couple trillion dollars in tax cuts for the extremely wealthy weren’t enough back in 2017, it happened again in 2020 in the CARES Act pandemic relief bill while Americans were left with crumbs, and now Republicans in Congress are making efforts to block the pandemic unemployment benefits extension. They’ll do anything for the extremely wealthy, and do anything to stop any help for average Americans. Tens of millions of jobs in the U.S. don’t exist anymore, these people can’t simply just go find a job if they don’t exist anymore.
Sorry, but I don’t take supposed deficit hawks seriously unless they’re willing to give up something they want. If they’re fine with tax cuts but balk at helping the unemployed, they’re frauds https://t.co/FsHY3Qwl1M

This direct aid has benefited over 40 diff efforts, from food distribution w @hungrymonknyc to helping immigrant families excluded from the CARES Act w/ @NYSYLC & @VendorPower.
In a just society, none of this would be necessary. But we’ll do everything we can until we get there.
