CNN: Unethical Behavior – On Tulsi Gabbard Too Just Like Bernie Sanders?

[speaker]

(BSDMS) – CNN HEADQUARTERS – CNN has a history of unethical behavior or practices, especially against progressives, did they do this to Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) at her recent CNN Town Hall at SXSW too? First, a bit of the known history of unethical behavior by CNN.

CNN’s non-political unethical behavior

In 2018, CNN blamed electric cars for unethical cobalt mining. However, DESMOG made a rebuttal to that claim shortly after and reported that this is simply not true. This type of claim is something the oil and gas industry has used to scare people away from electric vehicles.

Numerous companies worldwide have been avoiding “unethical” or “conflict” cobalt, along with developing methods that use far less cobalt, recycled cobalt, or none at all. Tesla also uses these newer methods. The bigger culprits of cobalt are consumer electronics such as laptop computers and cell phones.

“Meanwhile, gasoline-powered cars will always depend on oil, which has a long and irrefutably exploitative supply chain that harms communities at the point of extraction, in the areas that is it refined, and then again when the byproducts of its combustion spew out of tailpipes.” said DESMOG.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta, neurosurgeon, and CNN journalist were seen performing surgeries and medical rescues during the Nepal earthquake in April 2015. There is no way this would be allowed to happen in the U.S., so why in Nepal? Instead of the CNN story being about the earthquake, it quickly turned into revolving around Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

Several ethics experts previously raised questions over conflicting instincts of a physician-journalist.

After the Haiti disaster, Bob Steele, a journalism values scholar at Poynter Institute said“news organisations at some point appear to be capitalizing for promotional reasons on the intervention by journalists”.

CNN’s political unethical behavior

We here at BSDMS do not support President Trump, but CNN has also run false stories about that as well. Including a report that Michael Cohen intended to tell Special Counsel Robert Mueller that he was present when Trump was told in advance about his son’s Trump Tower meeting with various Russians. This report spread to the Washington Post and the NY Post claiming it was confirmed to be true. However, those two media outlets later retracted the story, while CNN did not, and never corrected itself.

Former CNN contributor Donna Brazile allegedly leaked debate questions to Hillary Clinton in advance during the 2016 Presidential election primaries against Senator Bernie Sanders. Brazile then later claimed that Hillary Clinton took over the DNC BEFORE the 2016 democratic primary election was won.

CNN and Jake Tapper left out the crucial context in its attack on Medicare For All, including during a segment with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

At Senator Bernie Sanders CNN Town Hall, the questioners in the audience have been proven to be political insiders, with direct ties to Sanders’ opposition.

Did CNN use unethical behavior on Tulsi Gabbard?

At Rep. Tulsi Gabbard‘s (D-HI) recent CNN Town Hall at SXSW, questioners seemed to be taking intentional jabs at her with questions that only her critics would ask, but she stood strong, did not sit down, and gave excellent answers to the “gotcha” questions. Tulsi’s standing and not sitting down were a tactical psychological tactic to throw your opponent’s guard off by owning the stage. It makes me wonder if the same unethical behavior used on Senator Sanders at his CNN Town Hall was also used on Rep. Tulsi Gabbard.

Steve Lyles, a military expert veteran, retired Army Ranger with two tours in Kosovo and Kuwait, along with a lot more under his belt, had this to say, “I only heard Tulsi from beginning until the end of her segment.
I thought she was spot on with her answers.  After listening to Tulsi’s segment I am beginning to question the legitimacy of CNN choice of questions.”
“The questioning seemed to be ‘gotcha’ questions focusing on what only her critics bring up: Hindu nationalism, questions about her faith, questions about father’s homophobia from the 1990’s, questioning how she can be a military person and not love war?”
“Yet Tulsi answered each question with confidence and style. She stood up and face this adversarial line of questions with out hesitation.”
“She also showed she is knowledgeable on foreign policy and has a 100% approval rating on environmental issues.”
“I regret not hearing the last person in the town hall meeting to better compare, but she is clearly head and heels over john Delaney.
It was an honor to hear Tulsi Gabbard speak and i look forward to hearing her again at the national debates, especially against the GOP front runner.”
Lyles continued, “Tulsi spoke of the nuclear missile scare in the form of text that everyone in Hawaii received. That was the most powerful moment of the debate. The nuclear missile threat is something trump does not take serious. That will stay with people for some time. “
There you have it, a U.S. veteran who loves what Tulsi Gabbard has to say, which means there are numerous more veterans in this country who feel the same way and agree with what Tulsi has to say.

CNN History Alarming

It has been proven that CNN has a history of using unethical behavior, especially against progressives, but that doesn’t mean other mainstream media isn’t doing the same. Fox News, for example, has a “Right Bias” and “Mixed Factual Reporting” rating by Media Bias Fact Check.
